unexpected road trip

we did a little impromptu road trip, this weekend. woke up on thursday, piled up the car and headed, due north. just the gals. the three of us, careening and caravaning up to see old friends and breathe that wonderful northern california, piney, salty, foggy sea air. first things first. a stop in our old hood {clement street} for a good, load-up on carbs and to catch up with our friends when you travel with me { always with the low blood sugar ~such a girl} it's all about the next meal. dim sum and then some {i like to say} and about finding great treasures in unexpected places.... and of course a visit to the incredible de young {check out the dale chihuly exhibit if you're in town} btw, did you notice? it's fall up there. total autumnal thing going on already. {sort of looks like mama might be sportin' the mullet from this point of view ~to be clear~ i'm not} off to the japanese tea garden....please and on to the exploratorium....i knew my children were really bright. and then on over to marin to visit my oldest friend...analisa {as seen on sfgirlbybay} scavanger hunts {again, to be clear, i did not write this list. i'm still not sure that anyone ever found the 'flower peddle'}and fashion shows. my "new" vintage boot score.
......so hard to leave, but so good to be home.

What's the old Mark Twain quote? The coldest winter I ever had was summer in San Francisco...

Sounds like we swapped places! I live in Marin but road tripped it down to San Diego then Santa Monica. Now I'm back to the fog and you're back to the sun. *sigh*
