ikea's tulip table knock-off

I have to tell you, sometimes IKEA just gets it. spot on. And it allows me to forgive them for all of the wobbly, poorly made furniture that i've bought from them over the years. One of my all time favorite finds from IKEA, is this docksta ($149.00) It's a great knock-off of the classic Saarinen tulip table ($1,431.00) When I needed a new table for my tiny breakfast "room", I wanted something round and something a bit modern. I remembered the tulip tables in my childhood breakfast room and was so happy to find this! And so far, it's not wobbly in the least.

We've had the same table for 2 years and paired it with light grey chairs from philip starck. We love it and it's a great value : )

What is the fabulous paint color accenting your breakfast "room"?
Wow that's a steal. I would be scooping them up for my terrace (I need four tables) but, ~sigh, no Ikea in Marrakech. Custom tile tables here are more!

that color, in my kitchen/breakfast room, is a martha stewart color (found at OSH hardware) called 'taper green' i have used it in two different houses and LOVE It. i never tire of it. it's like a tiffany box blue with a bit of green. it looks amazing with dark espresso floors.

No, the ghost chairs would have looked great though...

I just bought the Docksta as well and although I love it, it does wobble. Is there a magic trick to it?

Please share if you have any tips.

Since I posted this, I've put together 4 of these. They will tend to be wobbly if you don't tighten the hell out of the bolts. I'm strong (for a girl) but I had a guy come in afterward and give it that one last crank.
