nice cans
i went to cost plus today, to find-- i can't even remember what now-- and i came out with these:
i love the "cafe du monde" coffee can. the fonts on it, are fabulous. the color? mango. i could design a whole room around this. how about the british can of beans? simple, graphic. wonderful colors. art in the everyday of things. good times.

I purchased that "cafe du monde" about three years ago because I loved that can... thought I might try me some chicory coffee....
hummm.... no
can..... still a fav though
stumbled upon this blog today.... fun
thank you. hope you'll come on back.
the can is masterful. i believe that i saw this can in my parents house growing up.
Love those colors. You should do a "turn this can into a room" feature.
Cafe du Monde Coffee and chicory is the best when made as a Cafe Au Lait! You'll be laughing at starbucks when when try these that they've been making for years.
i did a little research on the coffee-famous in new orleans, open 24 hours, great with beniegts (however that's spelled) for the record, "char"-bucks --bleh. not for me.
It is worth going to New Orleans just for coffee and beignets! And the beignet mix comes in a box that matches the coffee can. Great people watching with mounds of powdered sugar! yum.
I grew up in Louisiana and have so many memories of my family in New Orleans French Quarter waiting for a table at Cafe du Monde. Beignets are to-die-for. My husband and I make them at home sometimes on a Sunday morning....just like pancakes, always ditch the first one!
can you believe this, i have never been to new orleans. ridiculous. never had a beignet either.
style court- TREMENDOUS idea, 'can as room' i see all sorts of possibilities!
You must go -- experience such a great part of america. spring break. perfect weather. the best food ever. and buy the kids a little paper hat from Cafe Du Monde for $1.80 to wear while they have beignets with the mounds of powdered sugar. a perfect start to a great day. or the perfect end!
they sell the beignet mix at grocery stores and online. one day you should try making some and then add powder sugar on top ... very easy! The hardest part is getting your grease at the right temp. It would be a fun weekend breakfast treat!
I, too, love the idea of turning that can into a room. I bet you could find the most amazing vintage furniture to play off the theme.
i've seen it actually. william sonoma has it i think. maybe i'll try it. if i do, i'll let you know how it turns out!
besides mulling over the room idea, i think i may do a painting of this. the colors just slay me.
The room is beautiful! (your cans aren't bad either!)
Love those cans- I'm a sucker for good package design. You can try to make beignets from the mix, but the oil thing is a hassle, it's just a lot easier to go to New Orleans and eat them there. BTW- bought the beans from World Market a while back b/c I thought the can would look cool on my shelf!
BTW, i had the coffee this morning. it's great--i recommend
