Walk With Sally Inspirational Video

being pink week , i felt that it was the perfect opportunity to introduce you to something near and dear to my heart. 'walk with sally'.

"walk with sally" is a non-profit mentoring program for families who are dealing with cancer. it was started by nick arquette (aka S.O.) who lost his mother to cancer, when he was a child. his mother, sally, was a single working mother trying to raise two boys and fight cancer. she was an amazingly strong and beautiful woman.
because of his experience nick wanted to create a program for kids, to provide them an adult mentor who can be there to talk, take walks or just 'be'. currently 'walk with sally' is only in the los angeles area. but the intention is to take it nationally. if you have a moment please check out the walk with sally video.

Two people I love very much are cancer survivors. I encourage everyone to think not only of breast cancer, but of all forms of the disease this month.

It's so easy to support Walk with Sally (a brilliant and much-needed program helping children whose parent or parents have cancer), the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society and the American Cancer Society. These are wonderful organizations and they're all there to help - and not just to help those whose bodies cancer has invaded, but those others whose lives it invades and affects directly as well.

If you have a loved one with cancer, do not hesitate to ask for a shoulder, a hand or a kind word from any of these groups.

And please consider donating money, any small amount, to any or all of them. They're there for you; the least you can do is be there for them.

Megan: you have a great S.O. there! I loved this video, so sweet and inspiring. Can't wait until you are officially Mrs. Nick A. - he's a keeper, for sure.
