take a seat

the other day my friend allison, stumbled upon a great find at a local, L.A. flea market, (wertz brothers): vintage drafting stools.
and because i'm that sort of friend... i went out and copied (come on, it was a great find). lucky for me there were a few more left. i think they're very happy in their new found homes.
allison's: and my own: *the bonus for kids, is that they're great for pushing at a high rate of speed down the hallway. which is not so much of a bonus for the aging blind dog sitting ahead.

love them and would own them if I lived in driving distance even if you both stopped speaking to me. They look great in both spots. And the color!

mrs. B~ the color is good. i agree. that may have been the selling point for me.

i think you could get these in KS for a song. of course, these probably CAME from KS and they were stupid pricey.

Megan, who did the art on the kitchen wallpaper wall? Love it!

my ex mother in law did that art : ) she's a wonderful artist and person. it makes me feel like i have a bit of her in my home, where ever i live.

now how many of you can say that?

nice...but they are too short for your counter for practical use. i had a similar experience with 3 toledo arts stools in my own kitchen. the metal shop down the street extended my stool legs for $75, materials included. in your case, i might extend the central shaft or opt for taller casters so as not to touch the paint.

anon~ actually they've worked great. no issues at all. very practical. but thanks for you thoughts!

gorgeous! is the white chandelier one that you painted? it looks awesome!!! i still need to get one!

it is teal chic. my very own home depot, re-do. it was a dark, weird, italian looking number that i just sprayed white, switched out the bulbs and discarded the tiny lampshades.

it would also look really cool painted a vibrant orange red or turquoise.

anon, thank you! the wall color was inspired by a martha stewart color (i think osh carries it) called 'tall taper green'.

i'd be happy to send anyone a sliver of the sample card that i have~ for matching purposes.
just email me if you'd like one.

LOVE the look! We're renovating out kitchen, and I'm looking at a really similar color. We also have an extra tall breakfast bar - any idea what the seat height is for the tools when they're at their highest?

i am reading some old posts. i lived in l.a. from 1989-1998. that is one reason i enjoy reading your posts; as it reminds me of those years. i lived in the fairfax district...great old homes...and worked on wilshire boulevard on the santa monica end.

i LOVED wertz brothers. I bought several pieces and they have traveled the world with me to Kyiv, Delhi,South Korea and now Jakarta.
