take a seat
the other day my friend allison, stumbled upon a great find at a local, L.A. flea market, (wertz brothers): vintage drafting stools. and because i'm that sort of friend... i went out and copied (come on, it was a great find). lucky for me there were a few more left.
i think they're very happy in their new found homes. allison's:
and my own:
*the bonus for kids, is that they're great for pushing at a high rate of speed down the hallway. which is not so much of a bonus for the aging blind dog sitting ahead.

Sweet! Think there is any way to get some here to Kansas cheap? I love those!
I love the stools BUT seeing that wallpaper on the far wall is heavenly!!!!
love them and would own them if I lived in driving distance even if you both stopped speaking to me. They look great in both spots. And the color!
mrs. B~ the color is good. i agree. that may have been the selling point for me.
i think you could get these in KS for a song. of course, these probably CAME from KS and they were stupid pricey.
Are they adjustable? and.. There's that fanTAStic wallpaper again!
Those are so cool, the absolute perfect shade of blue!!! What a great find!
they ARE adjustable. that's as high as they go though.
Lucky duck. So very cool!
love, love, love!!
I love those, and they are kid proof:)
Megan, who did the art on the kitchen wallpaper wall? Love it!
my ex mother in law did that art : ) she's a wonderful artist and person. it makes me feel like i have a bit of her in my home, where ever i live.
now how many of you can say that?
nice...but they are too short for your counter for practical use. i had a similar experience with 3 toledo arts stools in my own kitchen. the metal shop down the street extended my stool legs for $75, materials included. in your case, i might extend the central shaft or opt for taller casters so as not to touch the paint.
anon~ actually they've worked great. no issues at all. very practical. but thanks for you thoughts!
if only i lived in la and could go and buy some for myself!!
gorgeous! is the white chandelier one that you painted? it looks awesome!!! i still need to get one!
it is teal chic. my very own home depot, re-do. it was a dark, weird, italian looking number that i just sprayed white, switched out the bulbs and discarded the tiny lampshades.
it would also look really cool painted a vibrant orange red or turquoise.
God I just love the wall color with the Imperial Trellis. It looks fabulous!!
looks like they were meant to be! if i may be so bold...do they have any left & if so, which wertz brothers location & how much?
marina, did you go to ku?
wertz bros on lincoln (at the 10) had one left (at least that's all that i saw)
Yeah, Marina, did you go to KU? I wnet there too!
thanks for the wertz information, megan! yes, proud jayhawk, through & through! i live close by too...marina del rey. rock chalk!
aside from the fantastic wallpaper, i really love the colour of your walls... can you please tell me what paint you used?
JT
anon, thank you! the wall color was inspired by a martha stewart color (i think osh carries it) called 'tall taper green'.
i'd be happy to send anyone a sliver of the sample card that i have~ for matching purposes.
just email me if you'd like one.
LOVE the look! We're renovating out kitchen, and I'm looking at a really similar color. We also have an extra tall breakfast bar - any idea what the seat height is for the tools when they're at their highest?
