i'm sure he meant to mention us

i was just informed a house that my partner, allison, and i staged, is featured in ty pennington's new home magazine.
although due credit is given to the amazing architect, james meyer~and he is one of the best in l.a., it seems that ty's peeps, forgot to give us credit. oops.
no hard feelings, ty is after all add. and anyway, i'm giving us credit right here.

It looks amazing - love it all, but especially the color in the bedroom. Let's assume he forgot. He seems nice. An oversight.

Well done to you then! I know how you feel I'm still a little bit annoyed about not getting any credit for a four tier fresh cream, strawberry and white chocolate wedding cake I made in 72hrs straight one very hot July (I should probably chill about it now it was 15 years ago!)

Congratulations! I expect you will get credit in the next issue; especially if they get a nice note from you thanking them for the publicity and mentioning that you would appreciate being credited.
After all, if they were just showing off the architect they could have done better by him/her with the house empty, so it is obvious that your work was a featured aspect of the piece.

I'm not sure how this all happened though. Who hired you for the job - did they get any credit? - how did they get the house photographed - and how could they not credit the designer? Was he claiming it was his work? Having just gone through this process - the editors want to know where an ashtray came from, much less all the furniture - it just doesn't make any sense to me. I would call them Monday and tell them you have other houses to show them - maybe you'll get a great profile out of them next month - you deserve it after this! seriously!

joni~ we knew nothing about the spread, and then james (the architect) emailed us saying that, hey! great news, we're in ty's new mag. so i ran out to get it and not a mere mention. which i think is so strange. because, as my mom said, it IS a fabulous house, but it probably wouldn't have photographed as well empty.

and what happens if someone writes in asking, where something came from? the bed, a chair, the lovely fake green apples etc.

you're right, i should get a hold of ty.

Your staging just "made" the house, and without it would have had that so blanched in the sun look. You do deserve credit, so a note to the editor would be a terrific idea, with a link/ connection to your business.

Ouch! I'm sure it hurts to get dissed on your staging job. But as the mom of a child who has ADHD (it's not called ADD anymore) I know it hurts more to read your snarky comment about an all-too-common disorder. We all know Ty's ADHD had nothing to do with an unfortunate oversight in the magazine, and your comment was nothing more than thoughtless giggling at the learning disabled. Shame on you for not being more sensitive.

Unfortunately, stylists don't always get the credit they deserve - I think sometimes they have more to do with the final result of a photoshoot than the photographer (who always gets top billing!). Maybe a note to Ty would educate the editor and others about the oversight, as it probably wasn't intentional. Great job!
