peace out

PUMPKINS!

Pumpkins. We have no pumpkins around here. Not that they can't be found a few blocks away at Von's, or in an empty lot that's been temporarily turned into a petting zoo/pumpkin patch. It's that time of year (oh yea, here I go again...) when I have to start gearing up for the seasonless seasons. It might be the only time of the year that I envy your weather. There's something not so nostalgic about buying pumpkins on the corner of a busy Pacific Coast Highway in the 80 degree sun. So we'll buy a few pumpkins, come home, put them on our front porch and then run inside to change into swim suits and head down to the water.  Have a great weekend. Light a fire, wear some plaid,  eat some hearty food and get all fallish for me.

It would be nice to get some real Fall weather wouldn't it? We sometimes have a cooler Fall up here in the desert, but this year so far, no such luck. The ocean is a wonderful consolation prize for you though :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
I think I'd rather be in my swimsuit and jumping in the water with my pumpkin on the doorstep, instead of here on a grey damp old day with all the leaves blowing off the trees. Wanna swap?!

Funny ` it's unseasonably warm in NC, so hard for me to buy pumkins too. Decided on white pumpkins for this year - a good compromise...Happy Friday!!

As a fellow SoCal resident I know what you mean---I visited Connecticut in October once and thought, now this is fall! Alas, we pretend it's fall. I still put out the pumpkins and throw a plaid blanket on the chair! :-)

I guess I never thought about the lack of seasonal changes out there! I do enjoy all of the pumpkin patches, farms, cool weather, changing leaves etc.... but I would give anything to live by the ocean and have warm weather all of the time! You are so lucky!!

I do miss the seasons. I think North Carolina is just about perfect for Fall, Winter and Spring--but not summer. Have a super week-end.

We do have them here but it is still as hot as heck!
I need a break from the heat! really!
I'm thinking the same thing as a fellow So Cal girl. I just know how to pretend...I'm wearing jeans and long sleeves even if it means I'm still wearing flip flops and I'm pulling out our comforters and blankets and making it seem like Fall. Now if we could just get the leaves on the trees to change color :)
