deeply impressed
Like many of you, I love everything about Letter Press. I love that it doesn't feel technically over wrought, I love the way it smooshesthe ink into soft cottony paper, I love the imperfections, I love the perfection. I really have always wondered how it's done exactly. I found this little video over on gestalten.tv It's a great commentary as well as a nice demonstration of the Letter Press itself.

All I can say is "holy crap" -ya, I'm pretty much speechless. I had NO idea that letterpress was so labor-intensive. No wonder it is so expensive. Great video.
A friend of mine just demonstrated her little Paper Source press for me. I, too, love the look of the letters or images in the paper. I was surprised at how labor intensive the process is. Makes the price more reasonable.
