Happy Father's Day to you all. I'm missing my dad big time this year and it only makes me want to teach my girls to value their fathers (step and biological) for every little thing- good and bad. I miss my father's laugh, I miss his beautiful resonant voice, I miss his quiet introspective personality which sometimes seemed stern and distant. I miss his clean soapy smell in the mornings, and the vintage smell of the pipe he'd sit and smoke on the porch steps on summer evenings. I miss the sound of his car turning onto our street at 6:00 pm every night, which we could hear while we were playing outside. I miss the way he'd lean down, presenting his rough cheek for a kiss when he'd walk through the door. I miss my handsome father, witty, brave, creative and mine. I hope all of you will celebrate the man in your life who is 'father' where ever they are.

i am so saddened to hear about your father... He surely is in a better place but it certainly does not help when you miss them so...

Does not the spirit and wisdom live on in us? Do we not think and couch our present day actions with his approval in mind. If we do as much , what he taught us , will live in our actions and our children will know him.
