today i went to the santa monica flea market. i was
dreading going, as i was at a celebratory party last night with lots of wine...blah. it was super hot and really sunny today. the last thing i wanted to be doing was walking around in the heat, on pavement, with loud airplanes all around, feeling gross. i wanted to be at the beach. but my friend dragged me, and thank god she did. because look at what i scored! indonesian bamboo.... and it's been painted with marine paint so it can actually sit outside on a patio if i want.
this vendors booth was so nicely styled i had to take some shots of it. very thematic you can tell she must have so much fun with this...

there were a few more but i was jonzing for the beach and so didn't have time to take the pictures (actually couldn't be bothered)
here is one of the chairs in its new home (bad blurry picture)
and i made it to the beach in time to enjoy a lovely nap under an umbrella.

So beautiful!!! Okay, that's it. Forget the Rose Bowl...Santa Monica is apparently the place to be. Is it usually so good??? LOVING your new furniture.
Shuper score!! You know how I LOVE those needle-in-a-haystack finds, particularly when you feel stupid and dumb from the night before. I really love how these look so nice and sturdy.
i hadn't been to this one in awhile. it was much smaller than i had remembered. but there were some serious scores.
