skirt to room -the stylecourt challenge

courtney (stylecourt) and i both agree, jcrew has come out with a great resort or 'sail into spring' line. the colors are beautiful, nice retro designs and really interesting textiles (i don't like their button choices however. cheap) she has also always encouraged me to take everyday items and room-ize them (a dollar bill, a coffee can etc)
"make this skirt into a room" she challenges.
well.ok then. i'll give it my best bb8 shot. here goes.....
#1
and # 2
the game sort of works like this, find one thing that inspires you and pull design items that remind you of the essence of the item. it's very subjective. you can't go wrong. i'd love to see what others come up with. send me your own item-to-room board and i'll post it.

Meant to add that the repeating pattern in the white table and the lamp are genious.

Very cool. And as an added bonus those are the colors of my living room currently. Now, will you come to Seattle and put your loving BB8 touch to what I currently own and bring all the new stuff with you?

Also, I need to copy your Mexican wedding. I have one of my own coming up and I'm too busy/lazy to plan it. :)

The green square with the white medallion-looking pattern -- is that a rug? Please tell me what it is and where you found it. I'm praying it's a rug and that it's affordable (although I'm guessing "no" on the latter).

it is a madeline weinrib rug and they are kindof pricey

jj, i'd love to come to seattle armed with all of these goodies! wouldn't it be great if it was THAT easy?

claudia, anon is right, it's the madeline weinrib rug. 'expensive' is relative. it's not pottery barn cheap. but i believe that, if you can afford it, every room should have at least one really important piece. and this rug is well made, and can move along with you as your home, progresses.

rob-thanks!!!

pink- god, don't you love donghia?i wish i had known that, i would have added to the mix. quadrille has a really similar one.
i'm sure that the textile designers at jcrew were inspired by both of those.
