This week we chat about bedroom decorating. What are your must haves in the bedroom?
the skirted round table

Comments

A big dog asleep at the foot of the bed.
Large bedside tables, big enough for a good reading lamp and all one's paraphernalia, from books to magazines to a cocktail glass or coffee mug. A couple of wool blankets, one light for slightly cool nights, a heavier one for much more chilly evenings. A sufficiency of pillows, but none of them fancy or decorative. White bedlinens with a coloured trim. Oh, my husband says a minibar, to which I will nod in semi-assent: a nice mini refrigerator would be a good addition.

no television!! why didn't we think to bring this up! you're so right!!

and dogs, I've got two big ones, that sleep in our room. Deep breathing and purring snores resonating from those two all night long.

thank you aesthete, I"m with you, on the side tables and pillows..actually on all points. but that mini bar? not sure I could do that one.

elizabeth, your sister needs to let me know about those sample sales!

I do have a TV in my bedroom, but I never turn it on. It's the only one in the house but it never gets used.

I like a good light in the bedroom so I can read in bed. I also love having my dog either on the bed near me, or at the bedside.
We are empty nesters. When redoing our upstairs, we decided to turn the smallest bedroom into our "sleeping area". It holds a queen size bed, comfortable pillows, including 2 euroshams good for supporting back while reading, two smallish end tables (wish they could be bigger), two lamps, an armoire, a chest used to hold linens, but also place to sit and put on shoes, a small table to hold an antique fan (my husband has tinnitus and the sound helps him sleep, had to cave in for that). It's an all white/cream room. Very peaceful. No phones, no TVs, no computers.

A man..lol. That aside ~ good lighting, cushy headboard, fireplace, french doors off that open to the pool and a nice seating area (with padded bench for a coffee table), in which to watch a bit of tellie..YES televison!!
