down pipe #26

Around these parts, folks love a light and airy, beach bedroom. Who can blame them {or me} but I was so taken by the instant sophistication this bedroom took on with the simple act of painting. The room was done in farrow and ball's 'down pipe #26'
Poking around a bit more, I found a few more examples of this dirty, sooty, silky, slinky color......

One of those rare, warm-dark-blue-greys.
A striking and inviting change.
I tend to prefer the darker cave dwelling, to the white-light-box.

It appeals to my Hermit side.

I am loving this 'sooty' trend. I really am. I can imagine a cocoon feeling - of comfort and coziness during a cold Canadian winter. I'd snuggle in bed, watching Law and Order, surfing blogs or fliping mags; admiring my perfect 'sooty' walls.

Love a before and after where the before is also attractive, just different. Also considering a dark colour on my den walls so am on the hunt for all dark room shots. Merci!

I love the mysterious feel of the inky stairwell with the cowboy hat.

I am just about to use F&B Down Pipe on all of the bookshelves in a library with very little natural light. I do hope it's going to work!
