Hi I want that stag head! Beauty! Well I read a book every week or so during my commute... Right now I am reading a Val McDermid mystery "Trick of the Dark" always good love her books. In the summer I like to read books about hot places so one summer reading staple is always James Lee Burke set in Louisiana. This summer an old but AMAZING book moved me SO MUCH I sometimes cried on the train while reading. I am recommending it to everybody and lent it to my Mom: "The Power of One" by Bryce Courtenay
Great giveaway! Also great? The Hunger Games series. I read them all in 3 days.
Oh what a beautiful giveaway!! My fav summer read was Mis Peregrine's home for Peculiar Children!
I am currently reading Summer in the City by Candace Bushnell. It is the follow-up to the Carrie Diaries. If you love Sex and the City as much as I do, you will love these books!
Hmmm... I just finished Wanderlust and liked it. Some good sweeping dramas are East of Eden, Cutting for Stone, and I Know This Much is True.
Wow Megan, The Help, The Girl who Fell from the Sky, Lil Bee, and now The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton.
Great Giveaway!
xoxo

My suggestion might be a little dark for some as a "summer read", but I have to fit books in as I can. I have always been fascinated by the World Columbian Exposition as it started the neoclassical era and THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY tells the true story of both the founding architect and the doctor-turned-serial killer.
Hmmm...tough to pick one. I loved One Day by David Nicholls - I couldn't put it down! Also, a beautifully written book about the lives of two women living in the Swedish countryside, who are neighbors and then become friends, is Astrid and Veronika by Linda Olsson - one of my favorite books from the last 5 yrs or so.
Also LOVED Bossypants! Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls is captivating as well.
The Passage by Justin Cronin was a great page-turner!

Re-read Fitzgerald's The Beautiful and the Damned this summer and it was better the second time around!
I started reading Unbearable Lightness by Portia de Rossi. It's fascinating.
Ooooh, have you read Pigeon? It's about pigeons. Literally.
I also just finished the unauthorized bio of Angelina Jolie.
darn, I don't think my comment posted!
I just started Unbearable Lightness by Portia de Rossi. Fascinating.
Have you read Pigeon? Natch, it's about pigeons. Interesting.
And I just finished the unauthorized bio of Angelina Jolie. Naughty.
"The little buddhism and meditation book" by Bettina Lemke and also "Loneliness on the net" by Janusz Leon Wisniewski.
As a bookworm, here is my current list of recommended summer reads:
Autobiography of Mark Twain
The Invisible Wall
Let the World Spin
Outliners
The Education of Little Trees
The Power of One
**Love the other suggestions I'm going to add them to my list!
Crossing my fingers and toes for the stag head...I have a lot of empty wall space.
Good luck everyone and keep reading!!
Amazing Stag's head.
OK books I've read so far this summer -
Room by Emma Donoghue
One Day by David Nicholls
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
The Girl next Door by Elizabeth Noble
And I'm about to start The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. A rather eclectic collection and all good in their own way. I love the inspiration they bring me.
Get reading!
Lorna Graham's debut novel, 'The Ghost of Greenwich Village', prefaced with a quote: "There is really one city for everyone just as there is one major love." by Dawn Powell, is a perfect summer read!

My favorite summer read is Julia Childs' My Life in France.
Jane Austen always good or if you want something more current I recommend Jean Thompson's, "The Year We Left." Love the staghead!
wow you guys! I can't wait to read every one of these. I'm writing them down and at my pace I know have my year's reading list. THANK YOU!
The stags head is so lovely I would pair it with a book I love dearly - The Baron in the Trees by Italo Calvino. They are made for each other. This is the book that I exchanged once with my father, for his favorite book - Now maybe I will exchange this book for a stag's head...
